We can’t believe it either!

We are celebrating our first birthday on the 15th of October, with a weekend of fun and treats from the Saturday the 13th to Monday the 15th.

Design a dish competition!

We are offering one lucky customer the opportunity to design a dish to be featured on our black board for a whole month. The winner will win a meal for two up to the value of £60 as a prize and we will donate 10% of all sales of their dish to Cancer Research UK. Please ask for an entry form, the winner will be announced on the 31st of October.

We will be giving away special offer / gift vouchers to anyone who dines with us for breakfast, lunch or dinner over the three days. We are also launching our Pantry gift vouchers to buy in £5, £10 and £20 values. Gift voucher make the perfect presents for foodies all year round as they can be used to shop in our deli or dine  in our restaurant.

Tastings galore…

Over the whole weekend you will be able to drop by and sample many, many delicious products from our deli and homemade dishes from our kitchen.

On Saturday the 13th we have:

Nikki of Nikki’s Home Made Preserves sampling her range of locally sourced jams and preserves. Nikki’s raspberry jam goes down a storm with our restaurant and deli customers, however there is so much more to her range, so why not come and see for your self?!

Returning for their third tasting with us is the utterly delicious Little Melton Gourmet Yogurt. They will be sampling 5 of their flavours, blueberry, passionfruit, mango, honeyed and the new one, lemon curd. Get in early while stock last!

Crush Foods will be sampling their range of Norfolk grown rapeseed oil based dressings, stir fry oils and granolas. We are big fans of British rapeseed oil for many reasons, firstly it’s distinctive fragrant flavour adds some thing different to cooked foods and dressings. Secondly it has a high smoke point making it one of the few oils that are suitable for baking and frying with. It has extremely high levels of Vitamin E and it has half the saturated fat of olive oil. Finally it is British, and we are lucky enough to have some great local growers in Suffolk, Norfolk and Hertfordshire.

Borakis Quality Produce a greek speciality importer based in Balsham is a new producer for us and they are adding to our continental range in the deli with the finest Greek olive oils, honeys, feta cheese and snacks.

A local tipple to wet the whistle..

Our friends at the English Spirit Company in Dullingham, are right up our street; locally made, high quality spirits that can be sipped on their own as well as being great with mixers. The English Spirit company is one of only a handful of distilleries in England and they are on our door step! They produce gin, dark rum and vodka including flavoured vodkas such raspberry, cucumber, vanilla, coffee and orange.

A flavour for every ones taste..

Other tasty morsels to sample at the Pantry over our birthday weekend include..local cheeses such as Suffolk Gold and Mrs. Temples Binham Blue, Suffolk Salami and chorizo, Joe and Seph’s Gourmet sweet and savoury popcorns, Corkers Crisps of Ely, Gnaw chocolate bars, Jess’s cookies and cupcakes, Vince’s triple chocolate brownies, truffle oils and much, much more!
