On Saturday the 21st we are having a big relaunch of our deli, with several of our suppliers coming to do tasting stalls as well us putting LOTS and LOTS of lovely tasters of our other produce. We would love you to come along and support us (by trying lots of freebies)!

Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray! It’s time to celebrate again as our deli expands!

After three months of planning the re-launch of our deli is only two weeks away! As our name suggests we always intended to be both a restaurant and a place where you could pick up local and exciting world produce. We proudly stock some fantastic local suppliers and make a lot of delicious home made things too, but we feel the current lay out isn’t quite working for both the dining side and for our deli customers.. so we are having a little move around to create a deli where our customers will feel comfortable browsing. In fact it is almost going back to how we had it before we expanded last year.. but with a few exciting improvements.

Bringing the deli back together!
Bringing the deli back together!

The idea started about three months ago when Nikki (a pantry team member and now deli manager) and I were racking our brains about how to make the most of our deli. Nikki was so full of ideas and was so passionate I knew I had the right person to get our deli to where I had always wanted it to be.

Our journey started by asking our customers what they would like to see stocked or made to sell, we had some fantastic suggestions and have tried to introduce as many as possible!

Look out for our range of home baked artisan breads coming soon..

We then went on several trips out to Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire deli’s for inspiration and in search of new local and East Anglian produce. Vince was suspicious that we were just going on a few jolly’s but we can assure you it was really hard work visiting all those trade shows, farm shops and delis and it was even harder tasting all the different produce to carefully select the right ones for the lovely folk of Newmarket!

We have been quietly supplying our customers with dishes for dinner parties for some time and due to many requests we will now be launching a menu for out side catering and picnic hampers in line with our expanded deli offering.

Chutney’s, Jams, Dressings, Sloe gins, curry and cheese!

Back to the day it self we are delighted that the following producers are coming to offer tastings on our big day:

Nikki’s homemade preserves, Nikki has been supplying us with a wonderful array of chutneys, pickles, Jams and award winning marmalades since we opened our doors in October 2011. We serve her seriously popular raspberry Jam with our homemade scones, it literally flies off our deli shelves too!

Lucy’s dressings, a new addition to our range of Suffolk produce, a quirky and delicious selection of natural dressings.

Bhaji Man curry sauces, spice mixes and more. Whilst we champion local produce we do realise that there is a world of wonderful food out there and there are some fantastic locally made ranges that have to source ingredients from further afield. Please come along and meet Don Lear ‘Bhaji Man’ he is such a lovely character and makes delicious authentic indian food, you won’t be disappointed!

Sloe Motion, their divine sloe gin and so much more.. Sloe Pimms, Cherry Brandy, whiskeys, vodkas you name it they make it with Sloe berries, Damsons and cherries. It’s fruit based so (might) count as one of your five a day!

Cheese+, our charming cheesemonger Luke will be on hand to sample our range of over 20 cheeses, including our old favourites Suffolk Gold and Mrs. Temples Binham Blue as well as some fantastic new additions such as Tomme de Chèvre and Francis a silky smooth and buttery washed rind cheese.
