A little about The Pantry Bakery
The Pantry itself has been open for over 5 years now and with a huge demand for our cakes and other baked goods such as our famous sausage rolls and scotch eggs as well as a desire to produce our own breads The Pantry Bakery was born. The Pantry Bakery opened alongside our sister restaurant The Tack Room in September 2016 and is situated in the beautiful grounds of Palace House (The new National Heritage Museum for Horse racing and Sporting Art, situated just behind the High Street in Newmarket).
The Bakery opened with the help of our wonderful girls Jess and Mariah who had both been with our businesses for 4 years, since then we have hired Dan, a master baker who has moved our bakery up several gears, teaching our team to make the most amazingly addictive focaccia and ciabattas known to man! We not only sell these breads in our bakery but they are also served daily in both our restaurants; we keep our baking team very busy!
What’s next for The Bakery?
We will soon be purchasing a stone oven which will allow us to produce proper sourdough bread, which is a passion of both Dan and Vince and I’s. Sourdough has come back into fashion in a big way these days for both it’s taste and texture as well as it’s gut friendly health benefits!
